Marilyn R. Barreto, age 68, of Kenosha, passed away at her residence, on Saturday, December 19, 2015.<\/p>\n
Born on November 24, 1947 in Milwaukee, she was the daughter of George and Virginia (Brown) Perkins.\u00a0 Marilyn attended schools in the Merton area and was a graduate of Arrowhead High School.\u00a0 She also received her BA in Journalism from Marquette University.<\/p>\n
On December 19, 1969, Marilyn was united in marriage to Peter Barreto at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha.\u00a0 Peter passed away on October 30, 2013.<\/p>\n
She was employed as a civilian with Great Lakes Naval Base as a Benefit Specialist, retiring with over 20 years of service.<\/p>\n
In her early adult years, Marilyn had a passion for horseback riding dressage style.\u00a0 She was also a dedicated fan of Judy Garland and enjoyed following her career.<\/p>\n
Marilyn will be deeply missed by a daughter, Molly (fianc\u00e9, Jim Thuesen) Barreto; a son, Peter Ross; her granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Barreto; her mother, Virginia Perkins and her brother, Tim (Leona) Perkins.<\/p>\n
