(Neubauer) Meier, age 102, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Kenosha Estates.<\/p>\n<p>Born on March 19, 1915 in Cudahy, WI, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Duchovni) Pondus.\u00a0 In 1927, her family relocated to Kenosha where she attended local Kenosha schools.<\/p>\n<p>Josephine was united in marriage to Leo J. Neubauer on February 13, 1937, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. They were blessed with three children and 48 years of marriage before he passed away on April 23, 1985.\u00a0 She later married Herman Meier in Las Vegas, NV on February 24, 1994.\u00a0 They had four happy years together before he passed away on November 3, 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Josephine was a successful business woman and after working for Coopers\/Jockey International for 8 years and AMC\/Chrysler Corp. for 2 years, she owned and operated Neubauers Tavern for 10 years and also the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio on 6<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue in Kenosha for 6 years.\u00a0 She officially retired in 1972.<\/p>\n<p>She was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was currently a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, since March 19, 1999.\u00a0 While a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church she was a member of their Altar Society and Rosary Society and continued to be active in the Rosary Society at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.\u00a0 She was a member of the First Slovak Catholic Union, the Kenosha Yacht Club Auxiliary, where she served as President for one year.\u00a0 Josephine was also a member of the Kenosha Women of the Moose Chapter #155, the Kenosha Professional Woman\u2019s Club, the Quota Club, Kenosha Senior Citizen\u2019s Club, the Senior Action Council and the former P.L.A.V. James Smelcer Ladies Chapter #34.<\/p>\n<p>Josephine will be deeply missed by her son, Ronald (Janice) Neubauer; her daughter, Carol Perona; her six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her parents and former husbands, Leo and Herman; she was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Hahn; her brother, John Pondus and two other siblings in infancy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral services honoring Josephine\u2019s life will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, beginning with a prayer service at 10:15 a.m. from the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224-45th Street.
