Carole Jean (Janda) Girsh, age 87, passed away at her residence on Friday, November 17, 2017 with her loving family at her side.<\/p>\n
She was born on February 13, 1930 in Delavan, WI, the daughter of the late Anthony and Clara (Norman) Janda.\u00a0 She grew up in Racine and eventually moved to Kenosha where she graduated from Bradford High School in 1948 and attended UW – Madison.<\/p>\n
In 1951, Carol met Fred Girsh on a blind date and they were married on October 18, 1952.\u00a0 Their marriage was blessed with 65 wonderful years and four children.<\/p>\n
Carole and Fred\u00a0joined St. Mary Catholic Church in 1955 and became very active in the parish. She was a former member of the Catholic Junior League; Catholic Women\u2019s Club and was chairman of St. Vincent DePaul Society.\u00a0 Carole and Fred volunteered at the Shalom Center, Meals on Wheels and were Friendly Visitors.\u00a0 Carole loved to celebrate life by spending time with friends, family and dancing.<\/p>\n
Left to cherish Carole\u2019s memory is her husband, Fred; her children: Robert (Allison) Girsh, Diane (Gary) Hodel and Mary Clare (Brian) Jensen; son in law, Dennis Whyte and her 7 grandchildren: Kristin, Melissa, Allison, (Linda), August, Clare (Mary Clare), Leo and Andy (Diane) along with her 3 great grandchildren, Olive, Ewan (Allison) and Sydney (Kristin).<\/p>\n
Along with her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Girsh-Whyte and her brothers, Bill and Donald Holmes.<\/p>\n
he family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice Alliance, Inc. and her home care workers through Home Care Services, Alex and Sugi, for their dedication and constant commitment to Carole’s well-being.<\/em><\/p>\n Funeral Services honoring Carole\u2019s life will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, on the corner of 39th Avenue and 74th Street.
