{"id":13871,"date":"2018-06-04T11:37:14","date_gmt":"2018-06-04T16:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/obituary\/clarence-h-pee-wee-metten\/"},"modified":"2018-06-04T11:37:14","modified_gmt":"2018-06-04T16:37:14","slug":"clarence-h-pee-wee-metten","status":"publish","type":"obituary","link":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/es\/obituary\/clarence-h-pee-wee-metten\/","title":{"rendered":"Clarence   H. \u201cPee-Wee\u201d Metten"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Clarence H. \u201cPee-Wee\u201d Metten, age 98 of Kenosha, died on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Froedtert South \u2013 St. Catherine\u2019s Campus.<\/p>\n<p>A proud lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on January 31, 1920 and was the son of the late Christopher and Margaret (Friedrick) Metten.<\/p>\n<p>From 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945, Clarence honorably served our country in the U.S. Army 5<sup>th<\/sup> Division during WWII, under the direction of General George Patton.\u00a0 Clarence was honored to have been a part of the Honor Flight.<\/p>\n<p>On September 27, 1947 at St. Casimir\u2019s Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Helen Zemezonak. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1983.\u00a0 On November 9, 1983 he was united in marriage to Emmi Niesen.\u00a0 She preceded him in death on July 7, 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Before entering in the U.S. Army, for four years, Clarence worked in the Rope Mill at MacWhyte Wire Rope Company. After his return from the service he worked for Simmons Company for 15 years and then retired from AMC\/Chrysler after 21 years of service.<\/p>\n<p>Clarence was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, the former St. Casimir\u2019s Catholic Church and a life member of VFW Post #1865. Clarence was an avid music fan liking all the old time songs and artists.\u00a0 He also liked to garden and travel.\u00a0 Many special memories were made on family vacations camping in Wisconsin.\u00a0 Clarence cherished the holidays; especially Christmas.\u00a0 Most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his loving daughters, Susan Schroeder and Marla (Mike) Duggan; his three grandchildren, Theresa (John) Parham, Thomas (Britta) Schroeder and Christopher Schroeder; and eight great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his parents and spouses, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Metten and Charles \u201cTubby\u201d Metten; and three sisters, Rose Blanchard, Blanche Steinhoff and Viola Horne.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral Services honoring Clarence\u2019s life will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.
