Doris G. Erskine, age 93 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Home Inspired Senior Living in Somers, WI.<\/span><\/p>\n

She was born on August 18, 1925 in Purdin, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late Grover and Susie (Gilmore) Garrett.<\/span><\/p>\n

On June 7, 1947 in Purdin, Missouri, she was married to Edwin A. Erskine, Jr.<\/span><\/p>\n

Doris was a talented seamstress for over 25 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

She was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church.<\/span><\/p>\n

Doris moved from Florida to Kenosha in 2010.\u00a0 She loved sewing, traveling, playing cards, watching baseball, hockey and football.\u00a0 Her greatest joy was found in the time she spent with her cherished family and friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

Doris is survived by her children, Dolores \u201cDolly\u201d (Philip) Haverstick\u00a0 of College Park, MD, Deborah (David) Blonski of Savage, MN, Edwin \u201cGreg\u201d Erskine of Adams Friendship, WI and Scott (Karen) Erskine of Somers, WI; eight grandchildren, Eric, Patrick (Corinna), Kassondra, Brent, and Ryan (Kimberly) Erskine and Andrew (Katelyn), Adam, and Aaron Blonski; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Carolee Peterson.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Erskine; her son, Mark Erskine; her daughter-in-law, Marlene Erskine; her grandson, Garrett Erskine; and her sisters, Vivian Shanks, Louise Hoover, Francis Thorne, Esther Nichols, Mary Kimbrough, and Lila Lorenz.<\/span><\/p>\n

Doris\u2019 family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Home Inspired Senior Living for the compassionate care they provided.<\/span><\/p>\n

Funeral Services honoring Doris\u2019 life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home.\u00a0 A visitation will take place on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to The Shalom Center, 4314 39<\/span>th<\/sup><\/span> Ave., Kenosha, WI\u00a0 53144, would be appreciated.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
