Meyer, age 89 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Aurora Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Kenosha on December 16, 1929, LaVerne was the daughter of the late Robert and Antoinette (Kollins) Reid.\u00a0 She attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.<\/p>\n<p>On May 24, 1952 at St. Peter Catholic Church, LaVerne was united in marriage to Richard Meyer.\u00a0 They were blessed with 62 years of marriage and three children.\u00a0 Richard preceded her in death on June 21, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>LaVerne was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p>LaVerne was a warm and caring person who enjoyed helping others. \u00a0Anyone who met LaVerne was drawn to her radiant warmth.\u00a0 She was very humble, and had love and concern for everyone.\u00a0 Her generosity and outlook on life were an inspiration to all who knew her.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her children, CDR Mary M. Meyer NC, USN (Ret.) of Vista, CA; Theresa E. (David) Herr of Kenosha and their son, Jonathan; and John R. (Elizabeth Tercek) Meyer of Kenosha.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral services honoring LaVerne\u2019s life will be held on Tuesday, <strong>July 9, 2019<\/strong>.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4816 7<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue.\u00a0 Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass.\u00a0 Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.\u00a0 A visitation for LaVerne will be held on Monday<strong>, July 8<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LaVerne M.
