Doksus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joseph D. Doksus, age 72, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Lake Medical Group, Osage Beach, Missouri.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Kenosha on July 5, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph P. and Frances E. (Nee: Scheuer) Doksus.\u00a0 He was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph\u2019s Catholic High School.<\/p>\n<p>Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1973 as a Gunner\u2019s Mate Petty Officer 2<sup>nd<\/sup> class.\u00a0 While in the Navy, he served on the U.S.S. Bigelow for a year and was base police at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>On May 26, 1973, Joe was united in marriage to Diane Epping.\u00a0 For over 47 years they built a beautiful marriage and raised a family of four children.<\/p>\n<p>Starting in 1974, he was employed as an electrician with AMC, later Chrysler, until his retirement in 2007. At Chrysler, he worked with their apprenticeship program, encouraging others to advance in the skilled trades. Joe\u2019s involvement in the apprenticeship program led him to become a board member for Gateway Technical College. Joe not only encouraged others to advance themselves through education, he lived it by earning a bachelor\u2019s degree in History from the University of Wisconsin Parkside in 1998 while still working full-time.<\/p>\n<p>Joe seemed to always be in motion, participating in over 30 marathons across many different states, skiing, hiking, playing soccer and even refereeing soccer with his daughters. His generosity extended beyond volunteering for his church and community to becoming a regular blood donor.\u00a0 Joe also enjoyed fishing, helping neighbors and friends, working around the houses in Colorado and Missouri, but most of all he loved spending time with his children.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph is survived by his wife, Diane (nee: Epping) Doksus and his children, Mark (Teri Jacobson) Doksus of Kenosha, WI, Sarah (Joseph Higgins) Olson of Kieler, WI, Beth Doksus of Cedar Rapids, IA and Peter Doksus of Madison, WI; and his grandchildren, MacHanna, Kyla and Rory.\u00a0 He is also survived by his sister, Lynda Burgan, of Washington and many cousins, nieces and nephews and many loving and supportive friends.\u00a0 He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Francine Curtis, and his brother, William Boettcher.<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral services honoring the life of Joseph will be held privately with his immediate family.<\/p>\n<p>The visitation and service can be viewed via live stream at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PAFuneralHome\/live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">facebook.com\/PAFuneralHome\/live\/<\/a> on Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 pm; concluding with military honors.
