{"id":12421,"date":"2021-07-01T23:20:46","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T04:20:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/obituary\/winifred-zdanowicz\/"},"modified":"2021-07-01T23:20:46","modified_gmt":"2021-07-02T04:20:46","slug":"winifred-zdanowicz","status":"publish","type":"obituary","link":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/es\/obituary\/winifred-zdanowicz\/","title":{"rendered":"Winifred Zdanowicz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Winifred \u201cWinnie\u201d (Burby) Zdanowicz, age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2021 at Froedtert South-Pleasant Prairie.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Marinette, WI on April 18, 1925 to the late Albert and Ruth (Lee) Burby.\u00a0 She attended schools in Kenosha including Washington Junior High and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.<\/p>\n<p>On September 25, 1948 at St. James Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to John A. Zdanowicz.\u00a0 He preceded her in death on May 30, 2013 just 4 months shy of their 65<sup>th<\/sup> Wedding Anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Winifred was employed with J.J. Newberry and Simmons Company for 10 years. \u00a0She also was employed as a timekeeper for Brown National Bank, First Bank Southeast now known as Chase Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Winifred was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Choir.\u00a0 She held office as President of the Ladies Rosary Society of the Parish for six terms and was the longest reigning President.\u00a0 She was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. Post Auxiliary, she continually gave back to the Kenosha Community as a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, Bradford Alumni Association, Kenosha County Humane Society, Kenosha Senior Citizens, Chairwoman for St. Mary\u2019s Catholic Church for 30 years, A.A.R.P, Kenosha County Museum, the Catholic Women\u2019s Club and was a U.S.O. Hostess during WWII.<\/p>\n<p>In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting cups, saucers, precious moments figurines, Bessie Pease figurines and Norman Rockwell.\u00a0 Winifred was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her sister, Lorraine (Chester) Zdanowicz; her sisters-in-law, Markie Burby and Rose Ryback; her brother-in-law, Ed Grudzinski and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her parents, Winifred was preceded in death by her husband, John Zdanowicz, her brothers, Lloyd, Ken and Ray Burby and her sister, Elaine Balsis.<\/p>\n<p><em>Winnie wished to extend special thanks to Larry Zdanowicz for all the years of help with so many aspects of her life; to her niece, Chris Zdanowicz, to whom she fondly referred to her friends as \u201cher angel\u201d and to Rick Zdanowicz who was instrumental in assisting Winnie in recent years. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral services honoring Winifred\u2019s life will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 5100 22<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue, Kenosha. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for Mass.<\/p>\n<p>Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.<\/p>\n<p>A visitation for Winifred will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
