Michael Wayne Childers, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2021.<\/p>\n
Born on November 12, 1950 in Louisville, KY, Mike was the son of the late Thomas and Florence Childers.\u00a0 He grew up in Burlington, WI.\u00a0 He earned degrees from Gateway Technical Institute and U.W. Parkside.<\/p>\n
On July 10, 1971, Mike married Susan Uebele.\u00a0 He was a faithful and loving husband to Sue for over 50 years.\u00a0 God blessed their marriage with three children, Brian (Haley) Childers, Christine (Bill) Taylor and Sarah (Jeff) Ring.\u00a0 Mike and Sue have seven grandchildren, Isaac and Elise Childers, Emma, Alexander and Abigail Taylor and Callie and Wesley Ring.\u00a0 Mike was always there for his family, supporting them in all their activities.<\/p>\n
He was employed with Abbott Laboratories for 44 years in Information Technology.<\/p>\n
Mike\u2019s life was a witness to his strong faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.\u00a0 He served in many ways at Calvary Memorial Church in Racine, WI.\u00a0 He was a discussion leader with Bible Study Fellowship.\u00a0 His greatest desire was for family, friends, and others to know that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.<\/p>\n
Mike will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.\u00a0 He is survived by his immediate family, as well as brothers, Dave and Chuck and sister, Susie.<\/p>\n
Preceding him in death were his parents and sisters, Jeanne and Carolyn.<\/p>\n
Thank you to all who supported Mike and our family with prayers, comfort, and support.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Funeral services honoring Mike\u2019s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Ave, Racine, WI 53405.<\/p>\n Private interment will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.<\/p>\n Visitation for Mike will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave and on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church.<\/p>\n Memorials to Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Ave, Racine, WI 53405 would be appreciated by the family.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Michael Wayne Childers, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2021.
