{"id":12113,"date":"2022-01-13T22:56:04","date_gmt":"2022-01-14T04:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/obituary\/john-kuehn\/"},"modified":"2022-01-13T22:56:04","modified_gmt":"2022-01-14T04:56:04","slug":"john-kuehn","status":"publish","type":"obituary","link":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/es\/obituary\/john-kuehn\/","title":{"rendered":"John Kuehn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>John \u201cJack\u201d Kuehn, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.<\/p>\n<p>Born on April 30, 1937, in Milwaukee, he was the son of Peter and Irene Kuehn. Jack attended local schools and received his bachelor\u2019s degree from Dominican College in Racine. He met the love of his life, Carole Sweeney, at the Racine-Kenosha County Teachers College. On April 22, 1961, they were united in marriage at St. Casimir\u2019s Catholic Church in Kenosha.<\/p>\n<p>As a Quartermaster in the U.S. Army, Jack proudly served his country from 1960-1966. He was principal of Brighton Elementary for two years and had a 30-year career with KUSD as an English and Social Studies teacher at Bullen Jr. High School.<\/p>\n<p>Jack was an accomplished photographer and master gardener. He enjoyed golfing at Brighton Dale and Pets and bowled on the KUSD league.<\/p>\n<p>He was a kind soul with a love for nature and the animal world. He had a great sense of humor and always had a good word for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Jack was a dedicated follower of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Marquette and Notre Dame. He was a voracious reader and had great knowledge of WWII airplanes. He also was a great fan of Turner Classic Movies, the History Channel and Wheel of Fortune.<\/p>\n<p>Jack will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Carole; his son, Jeffrey Keene (Julie Agazzi); his niece, Sheryl (Randy) Tudjan; his great-nieces, Raechel (Shaun) Bartel and Erin (Michael) Valestin; his great great-nieces, Elyza, Alice, Rylie and Vaeda and great great-nephew Mason and his cat Holly.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara; his in-laws, Harry and Hattie Sweeney; his sister-in-law, Dolores Halbrooks; his cat OJ and many other beloved pets.<\/p>\n<p><em>The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice Alliance and their staff; the staff of the 4200 wing of Froedtert South \u2014 Pleasant Prairie, especially nurse Patty; Dr. David Knight and staff; Dr. Neil Shepler and staff and the Infusion Center at Froedtert South \u2014 Pleasant Prairie. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>A service honoring Jack\u2019s life was held privately.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial donations in Jack\u2019s name may be sent to Safe Harbor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.safeharborhumanesociety.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.safeharborhumanesociety.org<\/a> or to ASPCA <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aspca.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.aspca.org<\/a> ser\u00eda de agradecer.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John \u201cJack\u201d Kuehn, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
