Dorothy (Heinz) Brown, age 97, passed away peacefully in her home in South Carolina on Thursday, January 27, 2022.<\/p>\n
Born on July 27, 1924, in Madison WI, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Margaret (Harman) Heinz. She grew up attending local schools and was a graduate of Madison East High School.<\/p>\n
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her daughters, Penelope Olgers, Jacqueline Brown; her daughter-in-law, Pauline Brown; and her siblings, Ronald Heinz, Sister Rhea Heinz, and Betty Oliver.<\/p>\n
On March 8, 1947, she was united in marriage to Eugene Brown in Madison.\u00a0 They relocated to Kenosha in 1960.\u00a0 Dorothy moved to South Carolina in 1987 so she could be warm all year long.<\/p>\n
Dorothy was an avid reader, baker, and crafter.\u00a0 In particular, she really enjoyed sewing.\u00a0 With a keen eye for deals, Dorothy loved bargain shopping or \u201cjunking,\u201d as she called it. She loved talking about the \u201cold days\u201d with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she was lucky enough to have 5 generations of grandchildren.\u00a0 Dorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. Post #1865 Auxiliary.<\/p>\n
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Timothy Brown, Charles (Laura) Brown, Richard (Gloria) Brown, Sandra (Kerry) Poltrock, Jena (Stephanie) Brown, and Gail (Sue) Johnston; her 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren; and her brother, Keith Heinz.<\/p>\n
Funeral services honoring Dorothy\u2019s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the Piasecki Funeral Home.<\/p>\n
