Marilyn (Schmidt) Matarrese, age 86, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital.<\/p>\n
Born on August 24, 1936 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Johanna (Becker) Schmidt.\u00a0 She grew up attending local schools and was a graduate of The Milwaukee College of Cosmetology.<\/p>\n
On August 21, 1993, she was united in marriage to Michael Matarrese.\u00a0 Their union was blessed with 15 years of marriage before his passing in 2009.<\/p>\n
After graduating college, Marilyn worked for Vi Christiansen\u2019s Hair Salon before opening her own salon.\u00a0 She was the owner\/operator of Salon De Coiffure for 45+ years.<\/p>\n
She enjoyed crafting, gardening, flower arranging, bird watching, watching the cooking channel on TV, vacationing, and spending time with family.<\/p>\n
Marilyn will be missed by her daughters, Linda (David) Westphal and LuAnne (John) Kahl; her grandchildren, Katelyn Kahl and Robert (Stacie) Kahl.<\/p>\n
In addition to her husband and parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her grandson, Alex John Kahl; her great-grandson, Jack Francis Kahl; her brothers, Erwin Schmidt, Fred Schmidt, Harold Schmidt and Lawrence R. Andersen.<\/p>\n
