Joseph James Valente Jr., age 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Brookdale Kenosha.<\/p>\n
Born on August 7, 1943, he is son of the late Joseph and Mae (Durand) Valente Sr.\u00a0 He was a graduate of Morton High School.\u00a0 He continued his education at Carthage College and earned his master\u2019s degree in Business from Lake Forest College.<\/p>\n
From 1960-1964, Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.<\/p>\n
On September 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sophia Sakellos in Cicero, IL.<\/p>\n
Joseph was employed in Information Technology and Recruiting for his entire working career until his retirement in August 2008.<\/p>\n
He loved spending time with family and friends.\u00a0 In addition, Joseph enjoyed golfing, playing cards, going to the movies, and watching classic television shows.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his wife, Sophia Valente; his son, Joseph J. (Tamara Anderson) Valente III; his grandchildren, Amber and Joseph Rivera; his great grandson, Noah James Rivera; his sister, Patricia Witzke and her two children and his brother, Richard Valente and his two children.<\/p>\n
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents.<\/p>\n
