Meinhardt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vera Verda Meinhardt, age 102, formerly of Marshfield and Greenwood, passed away at The Legacy at St. Joseph\u2019s in Kenosha on April 22, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Vera was born in Kendall, WI on August 24, 1920, to Daniel and Sarah (Bredlow) Buchholz.\u00a0 They moved to Wilton, then to Loyal where she received her education, graduating from Loyal High School as valedictorian in 3 years.\u00a0 Following graduation, she worked at the Clark County Jail (now Museum) in Neillsville, and at Citizens State Bank in Loyal.<\/p>\n<p>On December 5, 1945, she married Clarence Meinhardt.\u00a0 They had one son, Ronald.<\/p>\n<p>They operated two dairy farms in the Greenwood area for 17 years.\u00a0 After selling the farm, Vera was the head bookkeeper at Greenwood Milk Products Coop for almost 13 years, and worked at the WCCN Wisconsin Pavilion in Neillsville.<\/p>\n<p>She and Clarence were both very active, and held several offices, in many military organizations both locally and in several states.\u00a0 She was a longtime member of Immanuel UCC in Greenwood where she helped start, direct, and accompany their men\u2019s chorus for many years.\u00a0 She was an avid piano player and played for many services both in Greenwood and Marshfield.\u00a0 As a musician, she loved the Big Bands and dancing, doing a Polish Hop Polka at age 93.\u00a0 In recent years, word search puzzles were her favorite pastime.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her son, Ronald (Patricia) of Pleasant Prairie; three grandchildren, Heather (Jesse) Casiano of Munster, IN, Aprille (Scott) Laupan of Chagrin Falls, OH, and Daniel Meinhardt of New York City.\u00a0 She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Robert and Tristan Casiano and Quentin and Evelyn Laupan.<\/p>\n<p>Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence, and two sisters, Arlene Buchholz and Lorraine Buchholz in infancy.<\/p>\n<p><em>A special thanks goes to the fabulous caring staff at St. Joseph\u2019s in Kenosha which was Vera\u2019s home the last 7 years.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, W6974 Century Rd, Greenwood, WI.<\/p>\n<p>Inurnment will follow in West Side Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at church.<\/p>\n<p>Online condolences may be expressed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuddiefh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.cuddiefh.com<\/a> y <a href=\"http:\/\/www.KenoshaFuneralHome.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.KenoshaFuneralHome.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vera Verda Meinhardt, age 102, formerly of Marshfield and Greenwood, passed away at The Legacy at St. Joseph\u2019s in Kenosha on April 22, 2023.
