Thomey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Constance A. \u201cConnie\u201d Thomey passed away November 29, 2023.\u00a0 She was born on September 9, 1927, in Kenosha, WI the daughter of Frank and Mary (Haddican) Rompesky.<\/p>\n<p>She was educated in Kenosha schools attending St. James Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and graduating from Kenosha High School, Class of 1945.<\/p>\n<p>On October 12, 1957, she married Donald Thomey, at St. James Catholic Church.\u00a0 They enjoyed 52 years of marriage, and they were the parents of two children, Pat Thomey of Germantown WI and Tom (Donna) Thomey of Libertyville IL.\u00a0 Connie is survived by seven grandchildren, Jeff, Ryan, Collin, Katherine, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Krystin.\u00a0 She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Austin and Olivia and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Connie was the original working woman and Mom.\u00a0 She worked at the Jeanette Shop and waitressed at the Keyhole Club for 8 years, where she met Don, her future husband.\u00a0 Connie then went on to a 22-year career at Jockey International (Coopers) where she started in the factory and worked her way up into an office position.\u00a0 She finished her career at the Barbershop Singing Quartets of America where she served as an accountant for 20 years.\u00a0 All this while balancing homemaking, kid\u2019s activities, and even the occasional neighborhood crusade.<\/p>\n<p>Retirement did not slow Connie down one bit.\u00a0 She was the bookkeeper for Saint Catherine\u2019s Hospital Gift Shop, an active member of the Kenosha and Racine Catholic Woman\u2019s Club and she served as Treasurer and Board member for many years for the Kenosha Chapter.\u00a0 One of her favorite activities was her Senior Aquacise Club.\u00a0 She always had her swimming buoys ready in case there was a pool or lake nearby.\u00a0 Connie reluctantly gave up swimming a few years ago, but the friendship and camaraderie of her swimming club remained.<\/p>\n<p>Connie also enjoyed going to plays, movies, anything musical, playing cards, and the occasional trip to the casino.\u00a0 Her favorite pastime, above all others, was anything having to do with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.\u00a0 No matter what it was, sporting events, concerts, milestone celebrations, she was all in and ready to go.<\/p>\n<p>Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her siblings, Mary Bolton, Eileen Petitclaire, Francis Rompesky, Jean Beyers, and Grace Dosemagen; and daughter in-law Pamela (Pat Thomey).<\/p>\n<p>Connie\u2019s family wants to thank the amazing team at Hospice Alliance for their generous compassion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral services with honors by Catholic Woman\u2019s Club of Kenosha honoring Connie\u2019s life will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4816 7<sup>th<\/sup> Ave, Kenosha.<\/p>\n<p>El entierro ser\u00e1 privado.<\/p>\n<p>A visitation for Connie will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at church.<\/p>\n<p>Memorials are appreciated to the Catholic Woman\u2019s Club of Kenosha, c\/o Treasurer, 7822 42nd Ave, Kenosha, WI 53142.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Constance A. \u201cConnie\u201d Thomey passed away November 29, 2023.\u00a0 She was born on September 9, 1927, in Kenosha, WI the daughter of Frank and Mary (Haddican) Rompesky.
