Seymour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shirley A. Seymour, age 88, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Hospice House Pleasant Prairie, WI.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Kenosha on December 13, 1935, she was the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Bauschelt) Greenwald.\u00a0 A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she attended Kenosha schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.<\/p>\n<p>On April 18, 1959, she was united in marriage at First Presbyterian Church to her high school sweetheart, James Seymour, who she met while roller skating.\u00a0 They were blessed with two children, five grandchildren, and nearly 58 years of marriage.<\/p>\n<p>She was employed by Coopers (Jockey) and Seymour &amp; Seymour, CPA\u2019s.\u00a0 She was also a devoted mother and homemaker.<\/p>\n<p>She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, St. Mary\u2019s Lutheran Church, and most recently St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church.\u00a0 During her time at First Presbyterian Church, she served as Deacon, Elder, Senior High School Youth Group Advisor, Sunday School Teacher, and Communion Preparer.<\/p>\n<p>She also found time to volunteer in various capacities including the Christian Youth Council (CYC) Women\u2019s Auxiliary (past president), Forest Park School Library, Kenosha Soup Kitchen, and Kenosha Rotary Club.<\/p>\n<p>She truly enjoyed spending time with her family including her dogs.\u00a0 Conversations with friends and relatives brought her great joy.\u00a0 She was an avid sports fan and attended as many of her children\u2019s and grandchildren\u2019s sporting events as possible.\u00a0 She enjoyed watching the WI Badgers, Cubs, Brewers, Packers, Bucks and just about any sporting event she could find on television.\u00a0 Her other go to activities included exercise class at the Kenosha Senior Center, reading, word searches, and feeding the neighborhood birds and squirrels.\u00a0 She also enjoyed spending time in Three Lakes, WI and trips to Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>She will be greatly missed by her children, Chris (Carol Nailor) Seymour and Steve (Linda) Seymour, five grandchildren, Allison Winzer, James Seymour, Scott Seymour, Daniel Seymour, and Annelise Seymour, her brother-in-law Dave Hamelink, sisters-in-law Nancy Covelli and Lynne Greenwald and many nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends.<\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim Seymour; brothers:\u00a0 Donald Greenwald, Robert Greenwald, Eugene Greenwald, and Jimmy Greenwald; and sisters: Lucille Jahnke, Donna Van Winkle, and Terry Rasico.<\/p>\n<p>The family would like to thank the employees of Hospice House, Aurora Hospital, Aurora Cancer Care Center, and Ascension All Saints Hospital Cancer Center for the wonderful care and compassion that they provided<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral services celebrating Shirley\u2019s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church, 8760 37<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>El entierro tendr\u00e1 lugar en el cementerio de Green Ridge.<\/p>\n<p>A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorials to, Hospice Alliance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospicealliance.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.hospicealliance.org<\/a>\u00a0 or 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, or Fellow Mortals Wildlife Hospital, <a href=\"https:\/\/fellowmortals.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/fellowmortals.org<\/a>\u00a0 or W4632 Palmer Lake Rd., Geneva, WI 53147 or St. Francis Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.animalshelter.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.animalshelter.org<\/a>\u00a0 or 12300 116 St., Kenosha, WI 53142, would be appreciated by the family.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shirley A.
