Dolores M. “De” Smith, age 93 of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday August 4, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center.<\/p>\n
She was born on August 26, 1930, in Milwaukee, to Lucille Krueger – a mother who taught her to embrace her natural ability to help others.\u00a0 De attended schools in Milwaukee, she finished her education in Kenosha where her dream career of becoming a nurse was fulfilled.<\/p>\n
En su cumplea\u00f1os en 1950, en la Iglesia Cat\u00f3lica St. George, se uni\u00f3 en matrimonio con John T. Smith. Su uni\u00f3n fue bendecida con tres hijos.<\/p>\n
De’s professional life surrounded her passion for nursing.\u00a0 She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 27 years.\u00a0 She was fond of the time she spent at St. Catherine’s Hospital.\u00a0 The hospital always had good karma for her.\u00a0 The environment for both the patients and the staff was conducive to excellent care and life-long relationships.<\/p>\n
De was personally involved in our community as much as she was with her profession.\u00a0 She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the former St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.\u00a0 Over the years she served the church in many capacities, including the Catholic Women’s Club.<\/p>\n
Tras su jubilaci\u00f3n, De se sinti\u00f3 obligada a mantenerse activa y ayudar a otros en nuestra comunidad. Ofreci\u00f3 su tiempo como voluntaria en el Centro Shalom y el Museo P\u00fablico de Kenosha. Fue miembro del Consejo de Acci\u00f3n para Personas Mayores, el Centro para Personas Mayores de Kenosha y el Grupo A.L.L. de U.W.-Parkside.<\/p>\n
Cuando no estaba creando recuerdos maravillosos con su familia y amigos, De disfrutaba de largas caminatas, devorar un buen libro o viajar.<\/p>\n
La sobreviven sus dos hijos, Gail Abeita de Kenosha, WI y Daniel G. Smith de Northfield, MN; sus cuatro nietos cari\u00f1osos, Sheri Anderson, Garrett (Gina) Anderson, Andrea (Zachary) Wimmergren y Charlotte Smith; sus dos bisnietos, Collin Anderson Jones y Ryne James Pucci; y su bisnieta, Paige Marie Anderson.<\/p>\n
Le precedieron en la muerte su madre, Lucille, y su hijo, Thomas Smith.<\/p>\n

Funeral services honoring De’s life will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024.<\/p>\n
