julio 18, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yvette Marie Lamphier, who left us far too soon on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Born on December 9, 1976, Yvette was the beloved daughter of Maria and Weldon Omori. She was a graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
Yvette dedicated her career to serving others. She spent much of her professional life in the hotel hospitality industry before joining Lake Haven Memory Care, where she served as the Community Relations Director and Sales Director. She found great fulfillment in building meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Her genuine compassion, warmth, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Yvette embraced life with an adventurous spirit. She loved traveling, especially visiting Disney World and spending time in Florida and Hawaii. Whether relaxing at the beach or giving back through community service, she found joy in creating memories and helping others. Her warm smile, generous heart, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her loving parents, Weldon and Maria Omori, and her cherished daughter, Kalea Lamphier, who was the center of her world.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances made in Yvette's memory for the benefit of her daughter, Kalea Lamphier, would be sincerely appreciated.
Yvette was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eva and Abraham Sabori of Los Angeles, California.
Although our hearts are filled with sorrow, we find comfort in the countless memories Yvette leaves behind. Her love, kindness, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

julio 29, 2026Learning of your passing has been a shock even though I knew you were struggling with your treatments. I know you yearned to get back to the beach with Kalea and I am so sad that you couldn't make it back in July. Don & I always talk about your strong desire to make "things" right, never afraid to address the wrong. Also, how you always took charge of situations....like taking Connor to Halloween festivities and we just said, ok...LOL. It was nice always knowing you were there if we needed you. Then we moved, we still kept tabs on you and Kalea through mom & dad, but we missed watching you & Kalea growing that strong bond. I'm sure Kalea has your strong determination and kind heart! We will miss you not being on this earth, but will cherish all the memories. Fly high, beautiful Yvette, without pain and struggle! Until we meet again....A hui hou!

julio 24, 2026My Cousin, My Shadow, My Partner in crime, As children we were inseparable and I cannot remember a weekend that we weren't getting into some sort of shenanigans. I am sure we gave our parents, grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles several scares. Our aunts and uncles more afraid of grandma and grandpa if something were to happen to us. Whether it was riding our bikes, climbing trees up high, rocks 10 times our size at Chatsworth Park or fishing at the lake, we were always exploring our world and having an adventure. Never afraid of getting dirty, we spent our weekends running around, swimming, climbing or crawling in places to explore that most would stay far away from. We laughed, we got some bumps and bruises, we took care of one another and made sure we were ok before moving on to the next challenge or coming up with an explanation on why we were doing something when we got caught. Figuring out ways to go back there without getting caught the next time. Looking at our little faces, it was no wonder that we got away with so much. We had each others backs because we knew that if one of us had a time out or had to come inside than the other would have to wait until we could drive our parents crazy enough to just want us to go back outside and play to get out of their hair. Most of my best childhood memories have me by your side.
As we got older, you moved away and the distance proved too much for us to stay close. We visited for a few years, but our worlds changed. When you had Kalea, I was so happy to see that your inner child was just resting as you shared your adventurous spirit with her. Like you, she is fearless. As a parent, I know that it must have been so hard to hold your breath every time her skates left the ice and all those worst possible scenarios played in your head until she landed safely. So proud when she nailed it and so encouraging when she needed it. Her skating reminded me of the times we would go darting around the rink, obviously going too fast, playing a game of tag around those slow pokes in our way. Yes, Kalea, your mom was a speed skater....small, quick and nearly impossible to catch once she got going (unless we got lucky and someone slowed her down or so she claimed). Our childhood, our adventures and our compassion for someone other than ourselves laid the foundation for the adults we became. Both of us going into fields where caring for someone other than ourselves or helping them is just as important as any other benefit. Making the world a better place one community, one family, one person at a time. Sometimes the journey is not smooth but our fighting and adventurous spirit pushes us forward to see what's on the other side. Bringing those around us along for ride because what's the point if we reach the top without anyone to share it with? I'm so glad that Kalea got share many of those moments with you and that she has your heart and fearlessness.
Life can be cruel and when your body started working against you, you never wanted to be a burden or share your pain with anyone. Always thinking of others through each treatment and appreciative of the help you got along the way that gave you the most precious gift of all...more time. More time to laugh, more time to cry, more time to create memories with those you loved most. More time to prepare your family for what was to come. It still hurts, we still cry, we will still miss you but I know that staying in this moment of hurt and pain is not what you would want for us. There are adventures out there to have and you will be with us along the way. Every life we touch will be better because you helped make us better. Thank you for making my childhood unforgettable. Thank you for being my best cousin. Thank you for letting me be by your side. We will miss you everyday

julio 21, 2026My heart feels heavy
Yvette, I remember the first day we met.Standing in a meeting being introduced to you and the team.Sizing each other up to see how this was going to go just before COVID shut everything down.At first, I thought we had an unspoken oathe just dislike one another and coexist. I used to tell Chris that all the time. But as everything changed, and we found ourselves inside an empty hotel everyday, avoiding each other completely, Kalea and the girls became the link that connected us.Losing our hotel ended up giving me a friendship that became family.
You were one of the strongest women I’ve ever known.Even through cancer, you stayed true to who you were.Your makeup was always perfect (I always felt a little lazy next to you 😘), your heart was so generous, and you would give anything to help someone. Your kindness and strength will always stay with me.
I’ll always hold onto the memories we shared. From Kalea sneaking me in to bring you food during chemo(only person I knew who could do chemo and be in full make up like a Queen)to our Janet Jackson concert on a whim thanks again to Kalea lol , to cheering on Bear at softball, and you pouring me wine while I tried to help you unpack your new home —those moments mean everything to me.
My heart hurts for Kalea and everyone who loved you. I know you’re at peace, but 49 is just too soon. The world lost an amazing person.
Rest easy, my beautiful friend. I will see you again, and I am sure you will STILL put me to shame your flawlessness! Until then you will always be loved and never forgotten. 🤍

julio 21, 2026Fly free, birthday twin. I will always remember you on December 9 because we celebrated on the same day. Your light in this world is now carried by your daughter. You live on through her. I'll always think about your genuine kindness and the way you radiated love in the world that can be so harsh. Be free of your pain and look over us all.
