It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Ann McBride, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the age of 73. She was born on January 15, 1953, to Henry and Marlene Shain and was a graduate of Joliet High School.
Sharon was united in marriage to Thomas McBride on August 28, 1980, in Waukegan, Illinois. Their wedding was a celebration filled with family, friends, and love, with nearly 800 people coming together to celebrate their special day.
Sharon dedicated her career to helping children as a Special Education teacher in Illinois. Her love for children extended far beyond the classroom. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel accepted, valued, and loved. Sharon never judged anyone and welcomed everyone with an open heart and her beautiful, unforgettable smile.
Sharon was a woman who believed in giving back and helping others. She was a successful Mary Kay consultant and enjoyed the opportunity to connect with people and make a difference in their lives. She was actively involved in her neighborhood, including running the neighborhood watch, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She opened her home and her heart to those in need, offering support, friendship, and a place where people felt they belonged. Through her outreach and kindness, Sharon touched countless lives and made a lasting difference in her community.
She had many interests and a wonderful zest for life. Sharon played the violin and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially camping, biking, waterskiing, swimming, and relaxing at the beach. She loved books and the library, and she enjoyed being owner of a WKRS radio program. Whether she was helping a neighbor, spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors, or simply sharing her beautiful smile, Sharon brought warmth and joy wherever she went.
Sharon will be remembered for her generous spirit, her compassion, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She gave love freely and expected nothing in return. Her greatest gift was the way she cared for others, and the lives she touched will forever carry a piece of her kindness.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas; her mother, Marlene Shain; her children, Daniel McBride (Kristy Murphy) and Shannon (Colin) Perault; her grandchildren, Ava, Adrian, and Arbor; her brother, Wayne (Patty) Shain; her sister, Lynn (Michael) Schmidtz; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Addison McBride; her father, Henry Shain; and her mother- and father-in-law.
Sharon's life was a gift to so many. She loved deeply, gave generously, and never hesitated to help someone in need. Her kindness, laughter, and beautiful smile will be deeply missed, but the love she gave to others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Sheridan Health & Rehabilitation Activities Department, 8400 Sheridan Road, Kenosha, WI 53143.
