Robert (Bob) McGovern, age 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026.
Bob was born to Frank and Joyce (Rosing) McGovern on February 24, 1959, at St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha, WI.
Bob attended St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1977. After attending UW Parkside, he spent his career working in retail at Sears, Target, Walgreens, Big Lots and most recently, Ace Hardware.
Bob played the organ and sang in the choir at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. As a young adult, he embarked on a cross-country motorcycle adventure. Always willing to lend a hand, Bob could be counted on for painting projects, helping people move, or preparing for holiday celebrations. He especially loved the holidays and kept his home bright with colorful lights throughout the year. Bob also enjoyed the annual McGovern family vacation to the Three Lakes area, musicals, Christmas music, baking delicious desserts, and cooking meals to share with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his brother, Terry (Pat) McGovern; sisters, Marilyn (Ed) Epping, Barb Milisauskas; sister-in-law, Nancy McGovern, and many nieces and nephews and his six cats.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Joyce; his brother, Jim McGovern and brother-in-law, John Milisauskas.
The family would like to thank the Ascension Cancer Center and the Kenosha Hospice Alliance for their compassion and care. In addition, the family would like to thank his friend, Clarissa Rangel, for the help and support provided to Bob and his cats.
