Lucia “Lucy” V. Falaschi

enero 14, 2018

Lucia “Lucy” V. Falaschi, 86, of Pleasant Prairie passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Hospice Alliance House in Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by her loving family.
Lucy was born on August 30, 1931 in Kenosha to Amedeo and Regina (Mascitti) Cosenza, and was a lifelong Kenosha resident. She was a proud Bain, McKinley Jr. High, and Kenosha High graduate. On May 26, 1962, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Louis G. Falaschi (Racine) at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Catholic Church in Kenosha.
To say Lucy was a dedicated employee of the City of Kenosha would be a profound understatement. At the time of her retirement due to illness in 2001, she had worked for the City and Kenosha Water Utility for 47 years.
Lucy was a devoted member of the Sunshine Club, the Four Seasons Club, and the Bain School Friends. She was a talented seamstress, biscotti baker, and never met a chocolate she didn’t like. She was an immaculate dresser and always carried herself with dignity and grace. Although not musical herself, she was a great supporter of her children’s development in all things musical. Lucy’s devotion was clear to anyone who knew her; as evidenced by her daily visits over 11 years to her own nursing home-bound mother.
Lucy was a long-time parishioner at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The past several years she and her husband have been parishioners at St. Anne Catholic Church. In 2006, Lucy and Louie moved into the “Fredriksson Home for the Aged”, along with another grandma (Mabel), her daughter & son-in-law, and two grandchildren. This unusual living arrangement was a source of great happiness for the entire family, until failing health required that Lucy enter assisted living at Brookdale. Her husband was able to join her at Brookdale last summer, and they were roommates once again.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Louis, daughters, Gina of Somers and Ann (Steven) Fredriksson of Pleasant Prairie, and son Alfred of Madison; two grandchildren, Joseph Fredriksson of South Lyon, Michigan, and Louisa Fredriksson of Pleasant Prairie. She is further survived by a sister, Dora Anderson and a brother, Louis (Dorothy) Cosenza, both of Kenosha, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amedeo and Regina, and a daughter-in-law, Kate Falaschi.
The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the kind caregivers at Brookdale, the medical staff at St. Catherine/Froedtert South, the angels walking among us at Hospice Alliance, her Pastor, Father Bob Weighner and Deacon Rich Stanula. All of you have treated this special woman with great love.
