Mike VollingI went on-line looking to book a fishing charter with Ken and found his obituary this morning. I'm shocked. I would have attended his service if I had known. I have many fond memories of deer hunting with Ken, Chet, Dennis, Jim Rockow, Pete Henry, and Bob Kaspar from many years ago. My deepest sympathies to Chet & Dennis on their loss.

Dennis and Diane HastingWe were very sorry to hear of Captain Kens passing. Ken seemed to attack everything he did with passion and enthusiasm. He lived life large. Always busy with work and play, sometimes being able to combine them. He loved to hunt and fish and was excellent at both. A better Great Lakes guide didn’t exist. Captain Ken was pleasant and kind to those around him and always made you feel welcome. Of all things he seemed to be good at through sheer determination, the thing he excelled at most and that seemed to come easy for him was being Levi’s dad. I’ve never met a father more fiercely loyal to his son. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to provide for or protect his son. He lived the last years of his life for Levi. Captain Ken you were an inspiration for dad’s everywhere. Now may you find rest with your Heavenly Father. We will miss you Dennis and Diane Hasting
