Joyce Elaine Brookhouse, age 96, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Primrose Retirement Community. She was born on May 5, 1928, to Gottfried and Alvina (Ritschke) Wohlgemuth.
On December 2, 1950, Joyce married Kenneth Leiting in Kenosha, WI and the two spent 12 years together before Kenny's untimely death in 1960. On January 25, 1965, she was united in marriage to Andrew R. Brookhouse. Together they raised seven children and traveled throughout the world. Her priority was family.
Joyce was known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith and support for her family. She is survived by her children, Eugene (Ellen) Brookhouse, Frederick (Joanie) Brookhouse, Robert (Sharon) Brookhouse), James (Terry) Leiting, Steve (Wanda) Leiting, Lyndell (Orlando) Gil, Shireen (Brian) Arata and Jefferson (Karen) Koch; her grandchildren, Tina (Frank) Ventura, Sara (Matt) Braun, Bret Ehlert, Alex Brookhouse, Rosie Brookhouse, James Leiting, Andrew Leiting, Steve Leiting, and Orlando and Arianna Gil.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth Leiting and Andrew R. Brookhouse.

Funeral services honoring Joyce's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha.

A visitation for Joyce will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to consider a donation to a local charity, as Joyce was always one to lend a helping hand. We will cherish her memory forever.

Judith Fai-PodlipnikMy deepest sympathy to the Brookhouse family. I was a neighbor of the family during my youth, and went to Prairie with Shireen. I remember Mrs. Brookhouse as a lovely and strong woman. May her memory be for a blessing.
