Kenosha County Board Supervisor, Gregory C. Retzlaff, age 62, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Froedtert South-Kenosha Hospital Campus.
Born in Grand Forks, ND on December 29, 1955, he was the son of Loren and Connie (Quast) Retzlaff. Gregory received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Arizona State University.
On September 11, 1982 in Green Bay, WI, he was united in marriage to Laurie Dantoin.
Greg was a County Board Supervisor of District #15 for the last four years. Previously, he was employed as a Life and Health Insurance Broker with CGI Group in S. Barrington, IL.
As a self-proclaimed “flat out superstar”, Greg has loved sports his entire life. He was an avid golfer, loved basketball; especially Butler University, and he looked forward every year to his March Madness trip in Las Vegas with his friends, Chuck, Bob, Vince and Steve. He also loved his years of race horse ownership with his friends Rich and Michelle. Greg especially looked forward to watching his superstar nephew, Josh playing lacrosse. You could always find Greg at the sports bars on the weekend with his buddy’s, Keca, Hos, Andy, son, Elliot and son-in-law, Alex, watching sports and testing his sports knowledge.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laurie Retzlaff; his mother, Connie Retzlaff; his two children, Elliot (Anne) Retzlaff and Jessica (Alex) Erdman; his grandson, Jack; his two sisters, Mary McGeheran and Barb Latts; and many his loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Loren Retzlaff.
Special thanks to Greg’s friend, Dr. Josh Bloom, who’s ability to push a wheelchair exceeds his ability to golf.

Barry CarlsonLaurie & Family - My deepest sympathy to all of you. I worked with Greg at NWNL in Chicago for about 8 years. We had a great time and enjoyed a lot of golf, baseball, football and basketball. Those were the Michael Jordan years and it was fun to be in Chicago with Greg, Ned, Murph, Jack, Step and the gang. I was so glad to hear that Greg got involved in public service in these recent years. It's funny because I never would have thought of Greg as a "politician". Ha! He had a good heart and always was a good teammate. God speed, Greg. Sincerely, Barry Carlson Orono, MN
I am so very sorry for your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and we are here for you whenever you need.
