Gabriel Robert Wirtz, age 4, died tragically in his sleep on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.
Born in Pleasant Prairie on February 12, 2012, he was the son of Lucas and Dana (Nichols) Wirtz.
Raised in Kenosha, Gabriel and his family are members of Christ The King Church; guided by their faith, his family finds peace in knowing that Gabriel is with his Heavenly Father. His admiration of super heroes took his imagination to great heights, starting with Under Dog, Thor, and most recently The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, their super powers paled in comparison to Gabriel’s ability to bring a smile to a stranger’s face or melt people’s hearts with just a single blown kiss. The oldest of his siblings and the 9th of his 11 cousins, Gabriel loved spending time with his wide-spread family.
Gabriel will be deeply missed by his parents, Lucas and Dana; his twin sisters, Evelyn and Adelaide; his younger brother, Tobias; paternal grandparents, John and Elsie Wirtz; maternal grandparents, Robert and Denise Nichols; maternal great-grandparents, Keith and Janet Knorr; five uncles, Justin Wirtz, Andrew, Beau (Ashley), Keith and Ian Nichols; five aunts, Bonnie (Judd) Klusmeyer, Caitlin (Jeremy) Lantz, Leah Newell, Erica and Alexis Nichols and 11 cousins. Gabriel is further survived by several great-aunts, uncles and other extended family members. His sweet spirit and out-going nature will be forever missed but his memory will live on with all who knew him.
Waiting to greet Gabriel with open arms were his paternal great-grandparents, Herbert and Evangeline Wirtz, Harvey and Irene Pickart and maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Nichols.

Kim BaileyPlease accept my sincere condolences. The loss of a child has to be the most devastating thing there is. At times like these, "God is near to those who are broken at heart; And those crushed in spirit he saves." (Psalm 34:18) I hope this will bring you a measure of comfort. I just wanted to share with you a promise from God that states in the near future, we can see our dead loved ones right here on the earth. (Acts 24:15, Psalms 37:29) Wishing you peace at this time.
