Dennis J. Farley, age 86, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Complete Care at Grande Prairie, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 1, 1940, in Kenosha, WI to the late Hollis “Jake” and Maude (Hoey) Farley.
He attended St. James Grade Catholic Grade School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Kenosha, WI.
Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, where he enjoyed ushering every Saturday night. He also enjoyed participating in the annual St. Elizabeth Variety show. Dennis was employed with American Motors and Equifax.
He was a former member of the Northside Happy Hour Club and the Young Singles Parents group (YSP’s). He was one of the original “Animals,” the group was formed with his life-long friends from St. James Grade School. He was also one of the organizers of the St. Patty’s Day Parade, around Library Park and one of his favorite past times was playing golf and watching the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Football.
Dennis will be missed by his children, Cheryl (Jim) Taylor, Tim (Sheryl) Farley and Erin (Kevin) Remillard Richtsmeier; his grandchildren, Shane Farley and Kalyn (Johnathan) Corwin and Jax Richtsmeier; his great grandchildren Brien and Nora Corwin; his sister, Vernise Schmidt; his special friend, Bettye Horton, all of the surviving “Animals” and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Farley and Dale Farley; his sisters, Ted Bammer, Pat (Bud) Greb, Kate (Clyde) Phillips and Ruth (Hank) Wood and his brother-in-law, Jim Schmidt.
Private inurnment with full military honors will be held in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to St. James Parish, 5804 Sheridan Rd, Kenosha would be appreciated.
Dennis' family would also like to sincerely thank, Bettye Horton, his loving and constant companion for all of her love and devotion, Hospice Alliance (Nicole), and Care in the Home (Jazmin and Lizzy), "You were his angels." Also, a special thanks to Grand Prairie Care and Rehab Center for the care you gave him during his stay.
May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

septiembre 10, 2026Dennis was somewhat of a legend to those of us in CYO sports back in the 60’s and 70’s. He was my basketball and football coach at St James and referee later on. I was fortunate our paths crossed again awhile back and we laughed as we recalled those days. He was quite a character and helped us learn about sports and helped us learn some about life. My condolences to his family. RIP my friend and thank you ! 🙏🏈🏀

septiembre 9, 2026Dennis was a great friend. I played golf with him many years and also penny Ante poker. We also went for breakfast with a group of friends on Wednesdays. He and his great humor will be greatly missed. God bless.
