junio 19, 2016

Veterano de EE.UU.
Dennis Sadowski, 68, died peacefully on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born in Kenosha on August 16, 1947. He was the youngest son of the late Leo and Barbara (Frech) Sadowski. He attended local schools and was a 1966 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
After high school, Dennis was drafted and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
On May 15, 1971 in Kenosha, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Neumann. Together they raised three daughters who are all Kenosha residents.
Throughout his life he worked in various careers including: Kenosha Lumber and Ocean Spray, but spent the majority of his time, as a self-employed auto body repairman. Dennis had a passion for old automobiles, all makes and models, making them shine again to their former glory. In his teens Dennis reveled in “scooping the loop” in downtown Kenosha.
Dennis had a deep love and respect for those who served in the military. He was a member of the American Legion Post 21, DAV, the Military Vehicle Association, and was a founding member of the Kenosha Area Vietnam Veterans where he served on the honor guard for many years.
Dennis could always be found out at “The Shop” restoring old vehicles or watching NASCAR. He loved to travel and had memorable vacations to Germany, Switzerland, Vietnam, the Caribbean, and Hawaii, as well as all over the United States. He enjoyed every minute with his family and was always fixing something for his girls (most often trying to be patient with them as he showed them how to do it for themselves). He LOVED to cook and was always trying out new recipes and perfecting them to his own (his homemade chicken potpie, chicken and dumplings and traditional kielbasa recipes will be continued on in his memory.) Dennis always had advice to give, opinions to share, and wisdom to be passed on.
Dennis is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Kathy; his daughters “his girls”, Sandy (Dennis) Procknow, Cheryl Parker and Daniele (Paul) Aceto and his grandchildren, Sydney Parker, Chase Parker, Aadin Aceto, Tatianna Aceto, Veronica Aceto and Samantha Le.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Marie Majerko and a brother, LeRoy “Butch” Sadowski.

Paul AcetoMore than a Father-In-Law. More than a friend. More than a mentor. More than a guide. I am thankful for the time I had to know you. A father to a fault. A peer and a friend without question or concern. A person who will never be out of my thoughts.

Greg MeyerKathy, I wish to extend my sincerest sympathy and condolences to you and your daughters and family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I had talked to Dennis about two weeks ago. He was as close to being a brother to me as anyone in my life. We became friends when we were riding the county bus to Bradford H.S. because of our interest in cars, and we both had VW bugs at the same time. I remember having lunch with Dennis and his Mom and Dad while working on the farm during the summer. I was treated just like family. We both went to Viet-Nam about the same time, and when we came back Dennis had been changed by his experiences over there. Some gave all, and all gave some. Dennis gave more than his share. I’m sure Dennis will be deeply missed by all who have known him. A donation will be given to the “Kenosha Area Viet-Nam Veterans” in his name.
