It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of David L. Kaley on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Hospice House. He was born on February 14, 1947, to the late Stanley and Evelyn (Delrey) Kaley. David was a loving father and a dear friend to many, known for his warmth, kindness, and incredibly generous spirit. His laughter and conversation would light up a room, and his ability to listen made him a confidant for those fortunate enough to know him.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 until 1970, including service aboard two naval ships during the Vietnam War.

On December 20, 1965, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Barbara Dering, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love and devotion.

Following his military service, he was employed at the Zion Nuclear Power Station before later continuing his career in government service. Beyond his professional career, photography was not merely a hobby—it was his true passion and artistic calling. His exceptional work was exhibited at the Anderson Arts Center and displayed in several downtown Kenosha establishments. He also maintained a photography studio at the Kemper Center, where he shared his talent and creativity with the community.

He was a proud member of the local Navy Club, the local Veterans Administration community, and the Photography Club. A dedicated advocate for the visual arts, he was a steadfast supporter of artists and artistic expression throughout the Kenosha area.

He is survived by his children, Jason (Denise) Kaley and Kim Fischer; significant other, Linda Gotsche; grandchildren, Alina (Ryan) Weber, Drake Kaley, Jacob (Brynna) Fischer, Natalie Kaley, Valerie Kaley, and Evangeline Kaley; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his sons, Daniel L. Kaley and David C. Kaley; his parents, Stanley and Evelyn, his in-laws, Charles and Eunice Dering and sister, Linda Rae Kantola.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that David's love will remain with us always. Let us carry his spirit forward, cherishing the laughter, love, and memories and strong connections he gifted us all.

Inurnment will take place privately in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
