Chris Halberstadt, age 65, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born on December 5, 1959, to Carl and Elizabeth (Erdmann) Halberstadt, Chris grew up in Racine, where he attended local schools and graduated from William Horlick High School. He later earned his certification in Radiology from the School of Radiologic Technology in Racine.
On March 6, 1997, Chris married Julie Perugini, alongside their daughter, Erica (Eschbach) London, in Wisconsin Dells. Chris met some of his best friends during his long career at All Saints Medical Center, where he worked in EVS, Endoscopy, and CT. He also spent time working at Froedtert South in CT and was thrilled to retire in January 2024.
Chris was a beloved member of Great Lakes Church, where he spent Sunday mornings with his church family. He served on the parking team with his great friend Lenny, their contagious smiles welcoming everyone who arrived. Chris also volunteered weekly to clean the church and was privileged to spend a week volunteering at Royal Kids Camp, an organization dedicated to providing an unforgettable week for children in foster care.
A passionate advocate for fitness, Chris was an avid member of Harbor Park CrossFit, recently recognized for completing over 1,000 classes. He enjoyed working out alongside his wife, Julie, and cherished their time with their FIT family. Outside the gym, Chris looked forward to his Thursday night meetups with his “guys group,” a tradition he maintained for over 11 years. He loved gathering with his friends Robert, Adam, Chris K, Brian, and many others at Ron’s Place for a Long Island and a 5x5.
Chris loved spending time with his family and friends and was always a true gentleman. Above all, there was no love greater than his devotion to his role as Grandpa, where he delighted in “horsing” around with his grandchildren, Aria and Liam, and creating lasting memories. Chris had a special bond with his mother-in-law, Nannie, and was her guarding angel upon her late husband’s passing. He was her rock and loved caring for her and they never missed an opportunity to get breakfast together. He was passionate about being a pet dad and loved ALL of his furry friends. Chris was also an avid traveler and cherished exploring new places with his family and friends.
Being the generous person Chris was years prior to his death he elected to donate his organs for those in-need of organ transplants. An unfortunate loss for Chris’s family following his passing this holiday season, it brought the ultimate Christmas miracle this year to many patients in-need across the country. Chris was acknowledged for his generosity with the organ donation Honor Walk where family, friends and medical staff lined up as he entered the operating room giving him a final salute for his life and the ability to save the lives of others.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Julie; daughter, Erica (Eschbach) and Mike London; grandchildren, Aria and Liam; his siblings, Carl and Mary Halberstadt, Linda and Gary Beesley, Craig Halberstadt, Chuck and Ann Halberstadt, Loni and Pat McCormick, Curt Halberstadt; his in-laws, Roberta “Bobbie” Perugini, David and Joan Perugini; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brothers, Michael and Patrick, who passed in infancy.
Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to call him family and friend.

Gina (Applin) AndersonI am so very sorry for your loss. I went to school with Chris. Chris was a great person to be around and he was always upbeat and smiling. My father met Chris when he was in the hospital years ago he asked me if I knew Chris because Chris knew me. I told him I did; my dad could not stop saying enough good things about Chris for the kindness, attentiveness, and care he had with him or other patients. I remember that so clearly. I am praying for peace and comfort for your family and May God bless all of you.

Hal GoebelAlthough it's been over 20 years since I retired from Racine Medical Clinic/All Saints, I have many fond memories of these organizations and the kind, caring, staff and physicians who made them so valuable to the Community they served. Certainly, Chris and Julie are among those who were special examples of that group. Chris was one of the kindest most thoughtful human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with. He was always friendly, fun loving, and committed to doing whatever he could to help wherever he was needed. When he and Julie married, he was the happiest I had ever seen him. The priorities and accomplishments highlighted in his obituary are certainly no surprise to those who knew him. As others have noted, he will be missed. My condolences and best wishes to Julie and their family.
