It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles A. Van Thiel Jr., who passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the age of 91. Charles was born on August 7, 1935, in Kenosha to the late Charles and Susie Van Thiel. He was a graduate of Kenosha Bradford High School.

Charles was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Gloria (Zahn) Van Thiel on October 29, 1960. Together, they shared many cherished years and created a lifetime of memories.

Charles was employed by AMC Chrysler, where he worked for many years. Outside of work, he enjoyed sports of all kinds, but fishing held a special place in his heart. He found great enjoyment in spending time outdoors and creating memories with those he loved.

Above all, Charles will be remembered for the love he had for his family. He is survived by his son, Drake Van Thiel; daughter-in-law, Sharon; sister, Sandra Van Thiel; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. His family will forever cherish the memories they shared with him and the lasting impact he made on their lives.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Susie; his beloved wife, Gloria; and his daughter, Tracy Van Thiel.

Though he will be deeply missed, Charles' memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew and loved him.

Interment will be held privately at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park
