Carol L. Antaramian (Galvin), age 73 of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, January 14^th, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 20^th, 1941, in Lemonwier Township in Mauston, WI, she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Schroeder) Galvin. Carol attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.

On March 31, 1960, she married Paul P. Antaramian. They were married for 45 years and had four children together. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2005.

Carol’s role as mother defined her. She was not only a mother to her own children and grandchildren; she was also a mother to her foster children, her nieces after their mother’s untimely death, and den mother to all of her children’s friends. She was a devoted and selfless caretaker of her mother-in-law for almost two decades.

She maintained life-long friendships with her circle of friends from high school as well as her late husband’s best friends’ wife, Mary Towle. Carol and Mary started a cooking career at the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286 and then later with her best friend and aunt, the late Merna Delaney. This career would last for more than 25 years. Simultaneously, she became Head Chef at Waukegan Yacht Club. After leaving the Waukegan Yacht Club she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Lake County Health Department.

Throughout life, Carol gave much of her time and talent back to the community by directing and participating in an annual charity fundraiser, The Moose Zoo Revue Variety Show. This past December, with oxygen in tow, she put on another show to raise money for the Medical College of Wisconsin Breast Cancer Research raising thousands of dollars. As a caterer she often charged only for the cost of the food and volunteered her time for benefits and funerals.

Her talents were not limited to cooking. She enjoyed oil painting, being a hairdresser to her friends, a make-up artist, a home remodeler, an armchair psychologist and doctor, a dancer, an entertainer and events coordinator and benefit coordinator. Her knowledge of trivia, pop culture, movie and theater were unmatched.

Carol was a great spirit that touched the lives of so many people. Her talents were many and her limitations were few. If she was in your life, she was always there to coach, to teach, to guide you and to listen. She would and could help you to move mountains. Her wit, her charm and her wickedly funny antics attracted a host of people in her life.

She is survived by her four children, Laura (Greg) Belsky, Wendy (Gary) Powell, Paul Antaramian II, and Peter (Angela) Antaramian all of Kenosha; six grandchildren, Alexandra Andrea, Jacob, Aaron and Abbey Antaramian, Andrew (Brittany) Belsky, Erik Belsky; and a great grandson, Wyatt Belsky.

Carol is further survived by her beloved little boy, “Bo”; her siblings, James (Gayl) Galvin, Danny (Julie Ruhle) Galvin, Cathy (Greg) Wildman and Shawn Galvin; and the love of many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and countless friends.

A memorial service in celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.
