Bertha H. Hillesland, age 84, formerly of Pleasant Prairie, late of Crivitz, WI, passed away at Woodland Village in Suring, WI on Friday, January 2, 2015.
Born in Kenosha on May 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Ruhle.
Raised and educated in Kenosha, she attended local schools and it was where she met and married Lief “Bud” Hillesland on October 1, 1949. They were blessed with five children and 65 years of marriage.
Bertha was a member of the Pleasant Prairie Firemen’s Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed gardening and quilting, but most of all, spending time with her family.
She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 65 years, Lief “Bud”; their children, Sandy (Darwin) Briggs, Cheryl (Michael) Poeschel, Richard (Leanne) Hillesland, Bonnie Hillesland and Ronald (Deanna) Hillesland; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Bertha was further survived by two sisters, Edna Pringle and Betty Weinberger and three brothers, Joseph, George and Eugene Ruhle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lydia Badham and Elizabeth Drah and a brother, Adolph Ruhle.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha , WI. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
