Barbara J. Daoust, age 79 of Kenosha, passed away on April 20, 2017 at her residence.
She was born in Bayfield County, WI on July 26, 1937, a daughter of the late Julian and Irene (Compton) King. Barb was a 1956 graduate of Ashland High School.
On August 12, 1961 in Ashland she was united in marriage to Michael Daoust. Shortly thereafter, in 1962 she and her husband moved to Kenosha, WI.
Barb was employed with Wisconsin Natural Gas Co. for many years as an Administrative Assistant.
She attended St. Peter Catholic Church, was a former member of the Kenosha Moose Lodge, and was a member of the Trailblazers 4H Club. She belonged to a cribbage and bowling league, and was an ardent Packers fan. A collector of dolls, she volunteered her time as both a CCD teacher and a poll worker at the Somers, WI town Hall.
Survivors include her husband; Michael J, Daoust of Kenosha; her children, Jeffrey (Tammi) Daoust of Kenosha, Susan (David Rank) Daoust of Caledonia, Michael (Raffaelina) Daoust of Pleasant Prairie, and Mary Kroes of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan Thomas) Daoust, Julie (Justin) Wesenick, Andrea (Eric) Schmidt, Jordon (Emily Caronti) Reener, Megan (Brandon VanArk) Daoust, Daniel (Autumn) Malsch, Shane Daoust, Alyssa ( Tony) Daoust, Nick Kroes, Jared Daoust, and Timothy and Matthew Keenan, and eleven great grandchildren.
Barb is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Richard (Vicki) King of Hayward, WI, Louis (Tammy) King of Chippewa Falls, WI, Beatrice Daoust of Ashland,WI, Debbie (John) Raspotnik of Ashland,WI .Donna (Jerry) Sell of Ashland, Wayne (Christi) King of Williston, ND, Derald (Sylvia) King of Stillwater, MN, Julian ( Lois) King of Richmond, WI, and Cecil (Ardell) King of Richmond, WI.
Along with her parents, Barb was preceded in death by a great grandson, Jacob Stang, her brother Alan King, her sister Cecelia Fabiszak, her mother and father in law, Julian and Thelma Daoust, and her two brothers in law, Daniel and David Daoust.

Funeral services honoring Barbara’s life will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017. A Prayer Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720-39th Ave., Kenosha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2224 30th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Entombment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
