With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Chester (Chet) G. Ramcheck, age 91, who passed away on October 13, 2025, at Froedtert South Hospital in Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin.Born on December 18, 1933, to the late Frank and Magdalene Ramczyk. Chester was a man of remarkable character, whose contributions to his family and country will be cherished and remembered.
Chester served honorably in the United States Air Force, embodying a spirit of dedication and patriotism that inspired those around him. His commitment to service was a testament to his character, and he carried those values throughout his life.
On April 30,1960, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Foerster in Stevens Point (Mill Creek) WI. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage. They were a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church for 55 years.
Throughout his career life, Chet was employed with Great Lakes Batteries, American Motors and Chrysler Corporation until his retirement.
Chet was a passionate outdoorsman who found great joy in deer hunting, as well as rabbit and pheasant hunting. He also loved both open-water and ice fishing and was an avid gardener. A devoted fan of the Packers and Brewers, Chet enjoyed attending Band Shell concerts with his beloved wife, Dorothy. He relished camping adventures and was an active member of the Dusty Road Runners, the Good Sam Club and U.A.W. Local 72.
Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought immense happiness to Chet’s life. He also enjoyed playing cards at the Moose Club and cherished outings to buffets and coffee meetups with fellow Veterans. One of his most treasured memories was taking part in the Honor Flight in 2016, accompanied by his granddaughter Sarah.
Chester's life was marked by kindness, integrity, and a profound love for his family. He was a source of strength and wisdom, offering guidance and support to all who knew him. His gentle spirit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of those around him, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of family and friends alike.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Ramcheck; his children, Debra (Peter) Lauf, Dawn (Larry) Saari, Wayne (Virginia) Ramcheck; his sister, Delores Franklin. Chet was blessed with seven grandchildren, Sarah (Nathan) Knautz, Ryan (Samantha) Lauf, Benjamin (Nicole) Saari, Ashly (Ryan) Revoy, Adam (Kelsey) Saari, Holly (Brendan) Burke and Taylor (Nate) Burchell; his five great grandchildren, Evan Knautz, Aaron Saari, Elizabeth Burchell, Jackson Burchell, Madeline Revoy and Baby Burke to be in 2026.
Chester was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Magdalene Ramczyk; his brothers, George, Florian and Raymond; his sisters, Mary Galloway, Alice Groh, Gertrude Lukaszewicz, Helen Lukaszevig, Francis Garr and Verna McFadden
