Our Loving Remembrance of Kendrid L. Wheeler
With deep sorrow and heavy hearts we share the passing of our loved one Kendrid L.Wheeler, who left us on Sunday, August 9, 2026. Kendrid was born in Baton Rouge Louisiana on May 30, 1980, and later resided in the Midwestern States of Illinois and Wisconsin. He attended the College of Lake County (CLC) in Illinois and Gateway Technical College in Wisconsin. From there Kendrid went on to become a published poet and an accomplished Lead CNC Machinist at Regal Rexnard Co. and was founder of K. W. Cosmetics; a home beautification and remodeling company. Kendrid truly loved his family both biological and extended. He forever reached out to share and foster togetherness with those he loved.
Kendrid found the love of his life Dominique Smith in 2005, and on November 6, 2021, they were united in marriage, beginning a beautiful chapter of their lives together.
He enjoyed tinkering with just about anything and had a special passion for cooking meals for his family He loved his job, machinery, and man stuff. He took great pride in everything he prepared and was always eager to invite others to have a taste. Sharing his cooking with the people he loved brought him great joy.
Kendrid was a devoted husband to his wife, Dominique, and a proud father to his children, Kentrell, Nacarri, Imani, Arionne, Jeremiah, Amir, and Mikaylah; his Mother Mary Ann Wright, his siblings, Kenneth L. (Kathy) Wheeler, Jerreyn J. (Jasmine) Smith, Jerrilyn L. Smith, Jerry W. (Courtney) Smith Jr; his aunts and uncles, Carolyn Wright Anderson, Eula Wheeler Righteous, Mary Wheeler Mays, Coleen Wheeler Robinson, Joy R. Wheeler, Beverly J. Washington, Mary Smith Goza, Janice Smith, John B. Smith, David Smith, Nathaniel Smith
He was preceded in death by great grandparents, his Father Kenneth L. Wheeler Sr, Richard Wright Sr., Albertha Wright Butler, Amos Louis Wheeler, Matilda Brandley Wheeler, Johnny M. Burgess, Susie Washington Burgess and his stepfathers, Michael A. Cooper and Carl R. McClenton.
A gathering of relatives and friends honoring Kendrid’s life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home.
