With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patrick Diglio, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, cherished friend, and unforgettable spirit, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center Kenosha. Patrick was born on March 18, 1950, to Clement and Mildred (Caparco) Diglio. He was a 1968 graduate of St. Anthony of Padua High School in Syracuse, New York.
On June 9, 2014, Patrick was united in marriage to Jay Herr and they were together for over 27 years. This was the heart of Patrick's life, the extraordinary love he shared with Jay. Together, they built a life filled with love, companionship, shared dreams, and countless adventures. Their partnership was one of deep understanding and devotion, and the memories they created together will forever remain a treasured part of Patrick's story.
Patrick served as the Deputy Director of Child Support Payments at Conduent, where he enjoyed a fulfilling career before retiring in 2018.
Patrick truly knew how to enjoy life. Pat and Jay created many wonderful memories together during trips to the RIU Palace, Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and other destinations. Patrick had a great appreciation for good food, especially seafood. Lobster was his absolute favorite. He loved cooking and baking... everything bagels, pizza, and chocolate chip cookies and brownies especially for Jay.
Patrick also had a creative side and found great peace in painting. It was a calming activity for him, and he especially enjoyed sharing his talent by creating paintings for friends. He loved bringing people together and took great pleasure in planning backyard parties and family gatherings, where good food, conversation, and laughter were always part of the occasion. An avid reader, Patrick seemed to have a little knowledge about everything, which lovingly earned him the reputation of being "Jeopardy smart." He was also incredibly caring and generous with his friends, always finding a way to lend a hand or be there when someone needed him.
Patrick treasured staying connected with his family and friends. Once he discovered FaceTime, everyone quickly learned that a call from Patrick could come at any time of the day. Those unexpected calls, often filled with conversation and laughter, became another special way Patrick shared himself with the people he loved. He had a special way of bringing kindness, humor, laughter, and his own unique charm wherever he went.
Patrick is survived by his husband, Jay Herr; his siblings, Clement Diglio Jr., Ann Marie (Michael) Fillinger, Lucia (Tom) Vitale, Millie (Ken) Nunneker; his sisters-in-law, Sue (Tim) Green, Linda (Ted) Voskuhl, Kathy Rudy-Herr, Kathy (Mike) Herr, Patti (Tom) Ludwig, Cindy Herr, and Debbie (Pete Guajardo) Capodarco and his brothers-in-law, Duane Herr, and Tim (Sue) Herr.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and many other beloved family members.
A Celebration of Life for Patrick will be held in the near future.
Patrick's family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical teams at Aurora Medical Center-Kenosha and Fresenius Kidney Care-Racine for their loving care throughout Patrick's many health challenges.

septiembre 1, 2026I met Pat during my first professional internship and career. He was the most amazing mentor. He believed in me and instilled confidence, even when I started that computer on fire. Although we both decided maybe IT was not the right path for me! Beyond being a great mentor, I was lucky to be able to call Pat a friend. I’m forever grateful for all you’ve done for me! agosto 30, 2026I met Pat while teaching First Grade at St. Anthony's in Syracuse. Pat taught Sister Carroll-Ann and myself how to ski! Pat was an absolute delight to know and super patient teaching these two nuns how to ski!! We all loved the Diglio family and when I saw his pict ure in the Syracuse paper I knew it had to be him. Prayer for ALL Pat's family and friends.
