Stanley A. Ginkowski, age 66 of Mt. Pleasant, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 30, 2015 at his vacation residence in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Stan was born in Kenosha on December 1, 1948, a son of the late Stanley B. and Frances (Cerqua) Ginkowski. An incurable storyteller, he joked that he graduated from “Wales” but eventually got his GED. Actually, he attended Carthage College and received his degree in accounting from Gateway Technical College and was enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.
On December 12, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nev., he was united in marriage to Louise A. Hackbarth, who was not only his partner in life but in his business, Ginkowski and Ginkowski, an accounting and income tax preparation firm started by his father. Also like his father Stan was an accomplished guitarist, playing in younger years with the Imperials and later with Bjorn, Ginkowski and White and before his passing with Rusty Nail. He also enjoyed hunting, woodworking, bargain hunting on eBay and golf.
An active member of the Kenosha Country Club, Stan had served as a board member and on the house and finance committees.
Survivors include his wife Louise; sons, Scott Ginkowski, and Brian (Alissa) Ginkowski, and his brother Richard (Judy) Ginkowski.
Along with his parents, Stan was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Ginkowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th Street. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass.

I have very brief moments when I think everything's the same as it use to be and then bam realization sets in and here I am alone without the the person I loved the most, relied on the most who understood me the most and believed in me the most and was there for me the most, and LOVED me the most, and my bestest best friend... Jackie (Tenuta) MaloneLouise, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Stanley. I never really knew him except as the funny guy in the band The Imperials. Sure did bring back lots of memories growing up as a teen in Kenosha back in the 60's. The greatest time ever to be a kid. Jack & Jill ZimmermanSo sad to have to say good-bye so soon. Stanley was such a character, a born entertainer, whether with a story, a song, a look, or whatever. He just liked to make people smile. We will miss our annual visits with him...the catching up on what old friends are up to, his observations on the state of the world, his quick mind.....that twinkle in his eye. We can't say "rest in peace." Stanley is already is having fun with those who've gone before him--family, friends, and fellow entertainers. Although for the rest of us life will be a bit duller now, we can thank him for the memories that bring a smile.

Dear Louise, we are praying for peace, comfort, and strength in this difficult time for you and your family. I have great memories of Stanley playing his guitar at many parties and gatherings. His joy of music was so very clear to all of us that knew him. I was one of those guys that share a stage with Stanley from time to time and knew how much fun he had when playing his guitar. Stanley will be sadly missed. I am sincerely sorry for your loss
