octubre 20, 2016

John Wojciechowicz, age 88, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at Hospice Alliance, Inc. - Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on May 13, 1928, in Terebien, Poland, John was the son of the late Daniel and Sophia (Kirykowicz) Wojciechowicz. He attended a Polish College in Germany, immigrated to the United States in 1950 and later made Kenosha his home.
On July 11, 1953, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, he was united in marriage to Helena Haponik. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage.
John was employed with American Motors as an inspector; retiring after 40 years.
He was active as a member of the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Brotherhood and Choir; the UAW Local 72 and the Kenosha Moose Club.
John and Helena traveled extensively to Europe, Australia and took various cruises. They loved their place in Wisconsin Dells.
John was an excellent soccer player in Poland. He enjoyed gardening and playing “jingle-jingle” at numerous casino sites and was an avid Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. John was a very proud American and his favorite saying was, “God Bless America!” He adored his children and grandchildren and always attended their school functions and sporting events. He was a wonderful provider for his family and his goal in life was to have his children live a better life than he did.
John is survived by his wife, Helena; his children, Janine (Greg) Powers, Steve (Diane) Wojciechowicz and Len (Laura) Wojciechowicz; grandchildren, Susie (Kurt) Cimbalnik, Don (Jimin) Karolewicz, Andrew, Alexa, Tyler and Chris; and great grandchildren, Porter and Lakelee.
John is further survived by a brother, Daniel (Dolores) Wojciechowicz and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore and a sister, Sophie Grzegorczyk.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Hospice Alliance; especially Julie and Debbie, for the exceptional compassionate care they provided for John.
