Mildred T. “Milly” Vagnoni, age 83 of Kenosha, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at United Hospital System – Kenosha Hospital Campus.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on February 11, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Gustav and Hertha (Tekampe) Matrisch.
On June 30, 1956 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, she was united in holy matrimony to Emil Vagnoni. Sadly, after 53 years of marriage, Emil preceded her in death on February 3, 2010.
Milly was employed with Good Value Pharmacy, retiring in 1996. Prior to Good Value she was employed with WUVS and Naugles Restaurant, Six Flags Great America and AMC.
She was a devout member of St. Peter Catholic Church and was committed to her faith, praying the rosary daily. Her passions included cooking, reading, knitting, playing bingo but what she treasured most was her family. She often told her children, “All I ever wanted to be was a mother.” She definitely accomplished that wish.
Milly is survived by three sons, Paul E., Michael G. (Amy) and Joseph F. (Nancy) Vagnoni; her daughter, Theresa M. (Michael) Hudson; her brother, Floyd Tekampe; five grandchildren, Michael (Glenda Schumann) Hudson, Kristina Ausherman, John Vagnoni, Ryan Vagnoni and Danny Vagnoni; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Loralye Ausherman and Zelda Hudson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Wayne Matrisch and a sister, Eleanor Hills.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her dear friend, Joanne Stroobosscher for the help and love she provided.
