
James Korowin

James Korowin, 77, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2017, at Parkside Manor.
He was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on July 9, 1940 and was the son of the late Virginia and Michael Korowin. James was an excellent athlete and played football for the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. He received his Bachelor's Degree in 1962 and his Master's Degree in 1963.
James went on to teach and coach for a short period of time before moving into the automotive industry. He worked for Ford, American Motors, Chrysler, Jeep, Mazda and Volkswagen of Mexico until his retirement in 1994. He loved boating and being on the water, traveling and being active in different sports.
In 1961 he married Diann Walker in Michigan. They later divorced. In 1992, he married Jill Feest in Dearborn, Michigan. They lived in Michigan, Wisconsin and Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Jill; his children, Khris Nedam of Livonia, Michigan; Kathy (Shadd) Whitehead of Livonia, Michigan, and Noel (Jennifer) Korowin of Crestwood, Kentucky; his step-son, Todd Yunker, of Kenosha, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Sarah Nedam, Sediqa Nedam, Abby Whitehead, Allison Whitehead, Jacob Korowin and Jackson Korowin and two step-grandchildren, Todd E. Yunker and Kaleena Yunker.
James is further survived by a brother, Dennis (Mary) Korowin; a sister-in-law, Joan Korowin; his nieces and nephews and his best buddy, his dog Bambu.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Bill Korowin.
James’ family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Parkside Manor, Froedtert South-Kenosha Hospital Campus and Hospice Alliance, Inc. for the special care and compassion they provided.

Memorial Services honoring James’ life will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI.

Jim was such a prominent person in the Playacar Development where we met and enjoyed so many wonderful times together. A lot of years, a lot of joys and tears! The memories will remain in our hearts always and we send our love and condolences to you amiga, and to his family. Whenever we think of Jim a smile will definitely cross our faces.
