Joan C. Lang, age 82 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Froedtert South – Kenosha Hospital Campus.
Born in Kenosha on December 29, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Charlotte (Nordbye) Steinhoff.
On September 25, 1954 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, she was united in marriage to John R. Lang. After 50 years of marriage, John passed away on December 15, 2004.
For 45 years, Joan was a caring and compassionate certified nursing assistant with St. Catherine’s and Kenosha Memorial Hospitals. She unselfishly gave of herself to all who needed her.
Joan was a wonderful baker creating treats which she loved to share with everyone. She had a passion for reading, playing bingo, slots and taking the occasional trip to Las Vegas.
She is survived by her three children, David Lang, Debra (David) Crucianelli and Susan Lang; her grandchildren, Daniel (Aimee) Crucianelli and Ashley Crucianelli; and her siblings, James (Alberta) Steinhoff and Sandra (Donald) Kirschbaum.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Kertz.

A gathering of relatives and friends honoring Joan’s life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue, Kenosha, WI.

Dorothy M BarcaMy sympathy to the family of Joan lang. I worked with her for a few years at United Hospital System, Kenosha Campus. She was a kind and hard working CNA with her patients. She was also a talented baker and the staff always looked forward to her eating her desserts. She will be missed by many people..

Dinese DamDebbie and David, I am so sorry about your loss with your mom. I loved her a lot. She was such a beautiful person and friend. She was such a comfort to have around when ever I was in the hospital. There was one time especially. She helped me through a bad situation, giving me strength and believing things would get better. Yes she sure was special in many ways. Hang onto all those wonderful memories, she'll be living in your heart for-ever. Love you Debbie and David
