Gary Kersting
diciembre 4, 1959 -
junio 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary A. Kersting, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left us peacefully on Tuesday June 9, 2026, at the age of 66. He was born on December 4, 1959, to Harry and Sharon (Sockness) Kersting. Gary was a graduate of Reuther Central High School.
He was united in marriage to Deanise Brothen on September 15, 1979.
Gary was employed by the Kenosha County facilities department for many years. He enjoyed hunting, working on cars and engines, driving Jeeps and ATVs, and was skilled at old school ways to keep vehicles running; knowledge he learned from his father. Always ready to lend a helping hand; Gary would often stop to aid disabled vehicles on the side of the road. He also appreciated a good pen and found it comical and challenging to casually take yours.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deanise Kersting; his children, David Kersting and Julie (Justin) Kersting- Keberlein and his grandchildren, Michael, Walter and Daniel, and his sister, Sue Thompson.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Amy Beth Kersting.
A gathering of relatives and friends honoring Gary’s life will be held on Thursday June 18, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Wisconsin Humane Society Kenosha Campus, https://www.wihumane.org/,7811 60th Ave. Kenosha, WI 53142 would be appreciated.
We hold dear the moments we had with him and will carry his legacy of love and compassion forward. Rest in peace, dear Gary. Your light will continue to shine through all of us.

junio 17, 2026I first met Gary when we were about 17/18 years old, through his cousin Rick. Suffice it to say that back then - Gary, Rick and I were into the typical mid/late 1970's scene (reference "That '70's Show" sitcom for more insight). Fast forward to 2012 or so when I met Gary again after taking a Public Works position, working with him at the County. What a great guy he'd grown into! Huge heart, willing to help out wherever needed and fun to be around. He will be greatly missed by friends & family. Safe/fun travels Gary......
