Stephen J. Cappelen, age 67, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Froedtert South – Kenosha Campus.
Born on September 5, 1953, Stephen was the son of the late Arthur and Joyce (Peterson) Cappelen.
On October 24, 2003, he was united in marriage to Mary Jo Kowalsky at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Stephen was very involved and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed working on cars, was an avid fan of Washington and the Packers, but most of all loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Stephen was employed with WE Energies as a crew leader, until his retirement in 2015.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Jo Cappelen; his children, Amber (Brian) Todd, Adam Cappelen, Ashley (Kyle) Moore, Ashtin (Carlie) Cappelen, Amy (Arron) Propsom and Katie Barth; his 10 grandchildren; his sister, Debbie Lenfesty and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Annette, Susan, Doug and Dori.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Froedtert South-Kenosha Campus.

Funeral services honoring Stephen’s life will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A visitation for Stephen will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1444 30th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53144 would be appreciated by the family.
Due to public health concerns only 50 people are allowed in the church at a time, and in compliance with CDC guidelines, social distancing will be maintained and those in attendance are required to wear a face covering. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this difficult time.
