Michael Wayne Childers, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2021.
Born on November 12, 1950 in Louisville, KY, Mike was the son of the late Thomas and Florence Childers. He grew up in Burlington, WI. He earned degrees from Gateway Technical Institute and U.W. Parkside.
On July 10, 1971, Mike married Susan Uebele. He was a faithful and loving husband to Sue for over 50 years. God blessed their marriage with three children, Brian (Haley) Childers, Christine (Bill) Taylor and Sarah (Jeff) Ring. Mike and Sue have seven grandchildren, Isaac and Elise Childers, Emma, Alexander and Abigail Taylor and Callie and Wesley Ring. Mike was always there for his family, supporting them in all their activities.
He was employed with Abbott Laboratories for 44 years in Information Technology.
Mike’s life was a witness to his strong faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He served in many ways at Calvary Memorial Church in Racine, WI. He was a discussion leader with Bible Study Fellowship. His greatest desire was for family, friends, and others to know that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.
Mike will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his immediate family, as well as brothers, Dave and Chuck and sister, Susie.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sisters, Jeanne and Carolyn.
Thank you to all who supported Mike and our family with prayers, comfort, and support.

Daniel LitewskiI had the privilege of working with Mike for over 15 years while at Abbott. I learned a great deal from him during that time and his constant drive to learn new things was so infectious and inspiring for all of us. There was always a piece about him even during the most stressful times at work and that was due to his strong faith and overall approach to life which we shared a number of times over the years. I am so sorry for your loss but please know that he touched so many lives in a such a strong and meaningful way over the years. God bless and rest in peace Mike.

Karen MillerI was truly saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Although I retired from Abbott in 2005 after only 27 years, I most certainly remember Mike. He was good-humored, truthful and understood how & where he made a difference on each project and initiative. If Mike was involved, problems were solved and deadlines were met. Even at Abbott, 46 years is a very LONG tenure and quite an accomplishment! My sincere condolences to Sue and the Childers' family. Karen
